Here we are as we make our way SOUTH (finally) to Utah.
Here it is… the Carnegie Quarry National Dinosaur Monument.
Yay 40 degrees! By the time we got there I didn’t even wear my jacket!
This is just the visitor center/gift shop area.
The tour into the quarry is led every hour… in the winter you caravan with a ranger to this site.
The building encloses this wall of propped-up riverbed that’s filled with dino fossils!
The lower level of the building holds some awesome fossil casts, large and small…
Can you find and identify the fossils in this section of the wall?
After a morning of driving AND our excursion to Utah, we made it into Colorado… HUNGRY… so we found a great mexican food place. Do you see the size of these plates?!
We’ve got lots more country to cross. Heading up into South Dakota tomorrow!
